Our Mission

A Responsible Transformation That Strengthens Bernards Township

The Lord Stirling School closed six years ago after serving Bernards Township for 56 years. The property changed hands several times and fell into significant disrepair. Almost immediately after Jon purchased the school, local neighbors approached him about ongoing trespassing, underage drinking, vandalism, graffiti, and other problems that predated his ownership. Because the property is zoned for residential use and sits among significantly denser surrounding development, housing was seen as a natural fit. As a 30-year resident of Bernards Township, Jon’s vision is to create a tasteful, secluded, and self-sufficient senior housing community at the same density as the property bordering it, along with special needs housing, which has always been a priority for Jon’s family.

Benefits of Jon’s project:

• Prevents the development of 100 market units from affordable housing
• 2 new special needs houses at no cost to the township
• Relieves the burden on the school system
• Projections in excess of $1 million in annual tax revenue
• Cleans up a blighted parcel, improves site conditions, and protects neighboring property values
• Less traffic than the previous use
• A plan carefully developed with local engineers, traffic experts, and award-winning architects
• A priority on hiring local contractors to bring jobs back to the community
